Michael of Bedford
His Grace Michael of Bedford is a Knight and a Duke within the SCA. He reigned as King in the East Kingdom on 18th October, 1980 (A.S. XV). Shortly thereafter Duke Michael became Kingdom of Atlantia's first King and was crowned on 2nd May, 1981 (A.S. XVI). Since then, Duke Michael has gone on to reign eight more times. Duke Michael is also a triple peer; a Knight, Laurel and Pelican.
Duke Michael won Atlantian Fall Crown Tourney 2010 which made him the King during Atlantia's 30th Anniversary. This is a rare (if unknown) occurrence of someone becoming King 30 years after his first Crown.
The Bedford Points tournament style was named after him.
