Lucas Cranach the Elder

Lucas Cranach the Elder was a German Renaissance painter and printmaker, born about 1472 at Kronach in upper Franconia. He was a court painter to the Electors of Saxony for most of his professional career and is known primarily for his detailed portraiture.
