The Middle East is a geographical and cultural area consisting of South West Asia, as well as Egypt. Culturally it refers to the Arabic speaking world and the birthplace of Judaism.
The area captured by the First Crusade is the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Palestine is the Holy Land for Christianity. Mecca is the holy city for Islam.
