Tasmania is the southern-most state of Australia. It is an island in its own right, being separated from the mainland by the Bass Strait. It was originally named Van Diemen's Land by the explorer Abel Tasman who "discovered" it in 1642, but is now named after Tasman. Its capital city is Hobart.

In the SCA, Tasmania is all part of the Barony of Ynys Fawr in Lochac. Hobart shares a postcode with the Australian Antarctic Territories so Ynys Fawr also claims them as part of its juristriction.
