In heraldry, a line which is drawn indented is made up of a series of zig-zags. Indented is the term used for a single line which divides tinctures on the field or for the treatment of a single-sided ordinary, or when both sides of a two-sided ordinary are non-parallel zig-zags. When the lines of a two sided ordinary zig-zag in parallel, the term of blazon is dancetty.
