alolositle Scots Gaelic or Scottish Gaelic is a member of the Goidelic goup in the family of Celtic languages. It developed from Irish Gaelic after the Irish migrations to Scotland in the 6th century. A major deviation between the languages arose in the 10th century.

Gaelic or Erse can refer to Irish or Scottish Gaelic.
