John Marplet entered Queen's College, Cambridge in December 1560. He was awarded the B.A. in 1563 and the M.A. in 1567. He served for 11 years as rector of Great Leighs and then from 1576 until his death was vicar of Northall. He compiled A Greene Forest which was published in 1567. He died on Sept 7 1592 and was buried in Northall church.
