Regalia in the SCA

Regalia is equipment or items of clothing that are associated with an office or title.

Royal or Baronial regalia often includes:

• crowns/coronets
• cloaks
• thrones
• sceptre
• orb

This type of regalia is associated with a specific office and if the office changes hands, so does the regalia.

Another form of regalia is associated with a specific title, such aspeerage regalia:

• spurs for Knights
• chain of fealty for Knights, although in some places for any peer. See IKA
• white belt for Knights
• cap of maintainence for Pelicans
• Laurel wreath for Laurels
• and, arguably, the medallions worn by members of any order
