Dormant

In heraldry, an animal lying down with it's head lowered is described as being dormant, meaning "sleeping," as this is the natural posture of many quadrupeds while they sleep.
Dormant groups in the SCA
In the SCA, a group is dormant if it no longer meets the minimum requirements to continue to be an active branch of the Society. This is normally used for colleges and other institutional branches which have fluctuating memberships. Larger groups (e.g. baronies and shires) are not dormant; they are disbanded or dissolved within their parent group.
