Sunglasses in the SCA

You may be surprised when you attend outdoor SCA events at the number of people who choose to wear sunglasses. Now it is all very fine to say "a wide brimmed hat" does the same, but this is not the case for many people. Sunglasses are one of those mundanities which are period by consensus. In places like Lochac, the wearing of them constitutes a matter of safety, not just a 21st century fashion statement. Cataracts and other eye conditions are a fact of life, especially with the depleted ozone layer and the consequent increase in damaging rays.

Sunglasses in Re-Enactment

Sunglasses are not worn by re-enactors once they have donned their kit.
