Maria of Montferrat, was Queen of Jerusalem between 1205 and 1212. She was the daughter of Queen Isabella and Conrad of Montferrat, born in 1192, posthumously to her father's assassination, by which time Isabella was already remarried, to Henry of Champagne.
On her mother's death, in 1205, Isabella succeeded to the throne, aged 13, with John of Ibelin, a half-brother of her mother's, acting as her regent.
In 1210 she married John of Brienne and in 1212 their daughter Yolande (also known as Isabella) was born. Months later Maria was dead, and John became regent for his infant daughter as Queen.
