Order of High Merit is a term used by some SCA kingdoms to refer to specific subset of their awards or orders. The term is neither reserved nor defined SCA-wide.
- In the East Kingdom there are five Orders of High Merit. These orders have two characteristics which distinguish them from other Eastern orders; they carry an Award of Arms, if the person receiving the award does not already have higher precedence, and they are polling orders.
- In the Kingdom of Atlantia there are six Orders that carry High Merit. However the characteristics are slightly different from the East Kingdom in that they carry a Grant of Arms instead of an Award of Arms (if the person receiving the award does not already have higher precedence). They are also polling orders.
