St Christina’s [[motto]] is ''ex cinere nos volant'' - “from ashes we fly”, likening the miraculous revival to a phoenix’s flight. This was chosen by popular vote in 2022, and replaced the original motto ''duo capita plura sunt quam unum'' – “two heads are better than one”.

Members have been known to try and summon it using the game of “duck duck goat”.

The College of St Christina the Astonishing is an SCA College in the Barony of Innilgard in the Kingdom of Lochac. It is based at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia. It was first established in 1990, but after a few years, fell into a long period of dormancy. It was revived in 2021, and has been active ever since.

Hagiography

Saint Christina is the patron saint of millers, bakers, mental health workers, and people with mental disorders. The college founders chose her because “she sounded kinda crazy, and that appealed to us at the time”. Her feast day is the 24th of July.
