Regalia in the SCA
Regalia is equipment or items of clothing that are associated with an office or title.
Royal or Baronial regalia often includes:
This type of regalia is associated with a specific office and if the office changes hands, so does the regalia.
Another form of regalia is associated with a specific title, such as peerage regalia:
- spurs for Knights
- chain of fealty for Knights, although in some places for any peer. See IKA
- white belt for Knights
- cap of maintainence for Pelicans
- Laurel wreath for Laurels
- and, arguably, the medallions worn by members of any order
