I just hate blank pages. - ALd'A AlexandreDavigne 01:53, 8 September 2006 (EST)

Welcome

Hi! Welcome to the show. You've been adding a lot of content lately. Check the How to edit a page link to get some cool tips on how to make links, categorize articles, and otherwise make your entries as snazzy as possible. User:Paul Matisz 12:00EST, 07 Sept 2006.

Ostgardr

Hi, I noticed your work on Ostgardr, which is turning into a rather good page. I was thinking of using it as a "Page of the Month" at some stage, but it probably needs a couple of things first. Some sort of overview of the groups awards, and a section on regular events held there aer the only additions I can think of. Some tidying up of the Ruling Nobility section would also be good, but it's pretty obvious that you intend to get around to that anyway.

Thanks again for helping to make Cunnan a better resource. Conrad Leviston 14:51, 2 November 2006 (EST)

Embunjulated (etc)

Alexander -- fascinating piece of imagination that this is, I'm planning on deleteing it, per the discussion page on it, unless you can offer a contrary argument. I admit it's a funny, but it falls alongside "pissant". applied to newts in the Far Isles heraldic rolls, for the arms of the Brewers' Guild. Perhaps it would do better as a sub-page of heraldry, alongside Attributed Arms, maybe "Conceits in Heraldry" -- Simoncursitor 23:30, 6 March 2009 (EST)

Mixed Battles

Hi Alexandre. I notice that you have marked Mixed battles as RPOV. Do you know of another meaning or have you just never heard of the term? Cian Gillebhrath 10:55, 21 April 2009 (EST)

  • I have tried to regionalise it. If it is better in your view, you can remove the rpov from it. - Cian Gillebhrath
  • My only concern with your re-stab is the comment
"In some places, archers must be armoured to the regular standard, may carry secondary rattan weapons and are killed like any other fighter.".
I was under the belief that Society combat rules now state that *all* combatants must be armoured to the regular standard, which is now a "heavy" standard. There is no true "light" and "heavy" any more, even though the term is still used in Lochac to distinguish between melee and missile combatants. And I thought I had already handled multi-functional fighters ("mediums" to some) with my sentence
"Some of these fighters may wield both melee and missile weapons."
The final paragraph in this article was just trying to emphasis that with mixed combat, the gaps in your helms have to be thinner or meshed and the battle rules may specify that certain fighters may be defined as "light" and must be killed in the old-fashioned way that Lochac likes to use. I believe that is how Lochac has maintained its love for combat archery.
That said, I am not a battle fighter (was a fencer) and have not seen a war in the last 8 years. I could be wrong, but that is the way of the wiki. Gaps can be filled by me. Errors can be corrected by others.

Armigerous Baronial Awards

Per the charters of the Aspen of Caerthe, the Golden Ring of Unser Hafen, the Hammer of Al-Barran and the Dragon's Claw of Dragonsspine:

A. The award shall carry with it, subject to the pleasure of the Crown, an Award of Arms. Companions of the order shall take precedence after principality orders but before a simple Award of Arms.

B. If the award is given to a person who bears an award carrying higher precedence than given above, his/her precedence shall remain unchanged.

C. If the award is given to a person who has previously received an Award of Arms, his/her precedence shall date from his/her election to the Order.

Retrieved from wimble.outlandsheralds.org Office of the Wimble Herald of the Outlands College of Heralds

Baronial level awards in the Outlands by their charters default to carrying an Award of Arms unless otherwise specified in the charter. In 2006 the Barony of Unser Hafen specifically got permission to change this and to /not/ give AoAs with Baronial level awards; this required permission.

Baronial awards granting status as an armiger is not governed by the Corpora but by the laws and traditions of an individual Kingdom; so the statement in the article Baronial Level Awards that BLAs are never Armigerous is both false and misleading.

Heraldic ranks

I notice you have opened discussions about various heraldic ranks. These ranks are/were used within Lochac too and seem to be used in some way in Ealdormere, West Kingdom et al. How are heralds ranked within the heraldic college of your kingdom? - Cian Gillebhrath 20:01, 15 January 2011 (EST)

Your promotion

Hi Alexandre, Since no-one objected, I have promoted you to Administrator rank. This is effectively the moderator level so now you can do all the sweet tricks outlined on http://cunnan.sca.org.au/wiki/Special:ListGroupRights . This includes deleting bpages and blocking nasty spammers. Of course, this is purely voluntary. You don't have to do any of these things, but you now have the power to. If you have any questions, just ask. Welcome. - Cian Gillebhrath (talk) 09:14, 13 March 2013 (EST)
