In heraldry a garb is a wheatsheaf. It was a particularly common charge in period heraldry, but is used relatively infrequently in the SCA.
In English heraldry it has a particular place, as being the charge chosen by the Grosvenor family, when their claim to Azure, a bend or (otherwise the arms of Scrope) was dismissed, and the king ordered them to change their arms altogether, rather than differencing them.
