Fountain

A Fountain is a period heraldic device consisting of a circle, internally divided barry wavy azure and argent. The argent is always depicted as white, not silver.

It represents the pool often found over a natural spring.

Modern heraldry sometimes depicts artificial fountains, but period heraldry did not.
