A Court Barony is an SCA rank awarded to those who have distinguished themselves in some way. The award of a Court Barony is a great honour, but unlike a Landed Barony, a Court Barony has no grant of baronial lands, and no real responsibilities. The title of the holders is still a baron or baroness.
Court Baronies are commonly awarded to Landed Barons and Baronesses when they leave office.
