Fimbriated

In heraldry, a charge which is fimbriated has an outline in a different tincture. Only simple geometric charges may be fimbriated, and in SCA heraldry that charge must be in the centre of the field. Fimbriation is often used to allow a metal charge on a metal field, or a colour charge on a colour field.

The device of the East Kingdom features a fimbriated laurel wreath. As the laurel wreath is a complex charge the SCA College of Heralds would not register these arms if they were to receive the submission now.
