basvaro According to Thoinot Arbeau in Orchesography, a double right crossing as performed in the Scottish branle consists of a pied droit largi, a pied gauche approché, another pied droit largi, and a pied croisé gauche. In other words a step to the right, a left step bringing the feet almost together, a step to the right and then a lift and bend of the left leg so that it crosses in front of the right.
