Vikings exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum (followed by a stint at the Auckland Museum) focusing on the Vikings of Scandanavia and their interactions with various other nations.
Contains a number of original pieces including the Mammen Axe, and two Lewis Chess pieces and also reproductions of original artefacts including helmets, weapons, clothing and household many of which were made in Australia.
In addition, they will be hold a series of talks on Vikings and on the 19th of February 2006 will be holding a Scandanavia Day which will display crafts, food etc from Scandanavia (not just Viking).
It runs from the 30th of November 2005 until the 18th of June 2006 after which it will move to the Auckland Museum until the 8th of October 2006.
