For the most part, only late period dances can be recreated, since we have instructions for them (although the instructions are about as clear as period recipes - certain things are assumed to be known by everyone). There are pictures depicting dancing in earlier times, but we don't have any more than a vague idea how these dances went, so we can't recreate them.
A number of SCA groups around Melbourne have dance practices on a regular basis. There are also several practices in Rowany.
