According to Domenico da Piacenza, the following dance steps were normally found in 15th Century Italian Dance, along with their duration:
- sempio (1/2 tempo)
- doppio (1 tempo)
- ripresa (1 tempo)
- riverentia (1 tempo)
- continentia (1/2 tempo)
- mezavolta (1 tempo)
- voltatonda (2 tempi)
- movimento also called scosso (1/2 tempo)
- salto (1/2 tempo)
