Osprey (Animal)
The osprey is a large bird of prey that is a specialist fish-hunter. It is found all over the world. The European ospreys migrate south to Africa during the winter. In period, it was occasionally used for falconry.

Osprey publish a series of small books based on military history. The Osprey Miltary books include the Elite, Warrior, Man At Arms, Campaign and New Vanguard lines of books.
As they are inexpensive and readily available, they form the starting point for many a new recreationist's library. They do contain some excellent images, but are generally poorly referenced and some are many years out-of-date.
