A team combat occurs when groups of two or more fighters cooperate when fighting. When only two fighters are involved it is referred to as single combat.

This term may be a regional usage. In many places, any sort of "many-to-many" fight is termed a melee.

The complexity of the team combat often depends on the context: whether it is melee at a tournament or at a war.

Making large groups fighters work together effectively is one of the most difficult jobs of a commander.
