Yuppie Medievalists May Vulgarize
This refers to taking a quick and easy way to make something look medieval. This may take the form of doing it the easy way, or by throwing money at it.
It is probably derived from an SCA interpretation of "Your Mileage May Vary" (ie. I have a critical opinion about something, but of course, you may think otherwise, or "What works for one, may not work for another").
Examples include:
- Commercial Sun Shades used to build pavillions
- Fabric Chair Covers to go over camping chairs
- Plastic basket hilts for rattan swords
- To Vulgarise: to spoil something by making it less refined or exclusive
