Harness is a term used to describe a full suit of armour. Typically it applies to plate harness.
A typically mid to late 15th century harness would include:
- helmet (typically a sallet, barbute or armet - head
- bevor - throat
- standard - neck and throat
- pauldrons or spaulders - shoulders
- breastplate - chest
- back plate - back
- plackart - abdomen
- fauld - waist
- tassets - upper thigh
- cuisses - thighs
- poleyns with wings - knees
- greaves - lower legs
- sabatons - feet
- gauntlets - hands
- vambraces - forearms
- couters with wings - elbows
- rerebraces - upper arms
