In heraldry, a line which is drawn invecked (or invected) is made up of a series of semi-circles touching each other side by side. On an ordinary the line is drawn with the points towards the ordinary, and away from the field. In the case of a simple line division the general consensus seems to be that the lines will point towards the chief, with the exception of per pale when it will point towards the dexter.
