A Court Barony is a rank awarded to those who have distinguished themselves in some way. The award of a Court Barony is a great honour, but unlike a Landed Barony, a Court Barony has no grant of lands, and no real responsibilities.

Court Baronies are awarded to Landed Barons and Baronesses when they leave office.
