Cattle are large herd animals of the genus Bos They were domesticated during pre-history as a source of meat, leather, and milk. Its dung, when dried, is a useful fuel source. The male "bull" is often used as symbol for the property of strength. The word "cow" is also commonly used in the English vernacular to refer to any individual cattle. A calf is a sexually immature cow of either sex.
