Dame

Dame is the honorific used for various female peers or the wives of peers, e.g. baronet. It is sometimes extended to the woman in charge of a household, the lady of the house.

It is also used for the abbess or prioress who is the superior of a nunnery.[1]

SCA Dames

In the SCA, Dame is acceptable for certain persona nationalities as an alternate title for:

• Lady
• Mistress
