Southernwood (artemisia abrotarnum), also called Lad's Love, is a perrenial herb that can grow up to a metre in height. It has a woody with soft branching shoots and grey-green leaves. It is said to repel moths, bees and (in an infusion) dandruff.

In order to grow Southern Wood locate it in a sunny position with well drained soil enriched with compost. It may be grown from cuttings taken in Autumn.
