The heraldic term for purple. According to The Blazon of Gentrie it signifies the following:

  3. Virtues: Temperance and Prudence
  4. Celestial signs: Sagitarius and Pisces
  5. Months: November and February
  6. Days of the Week: Wednesday
  7. Ages of Man: The age of grey hairs, called can栳enectus
  8. Flowers: The violet
  9. Elements: Water and Earth
  10. Seasons of the Year: Winter
  11. Complexions: Flegmatic, with some choler
  12. Numbers: 7, 12
  13. Metals: Tin
