Lent

For Christians, Lent is a period of of approximately forty days before Easter. This time was marked by fasting and refraining from festivities.

Apart from fish, other meats suitable for use in cooking during Lent include, beaver, barnacle goose and a number of sea going mammals such as whales and porpoises.
