Minstrel

A minstrel could mean a professional entertainer of one of various types (e.g. juggler or acrobat) and was also used to describe professional musicians specifically. Minstrelry includes an amount of comedy in all their pieces.

In the SCA, a minstrel is usually any performer of music.
