Mimed branles are branles in which the dancer makes gestures or movements inimitation of a specific type of person or animal, Orchesography contains the choreography for five mimed branles. These are the Clog Branle, the Hermits Branle, the Horses Branle, the Pease Branle and the Washerwomen's Branle. They are often danced as a suite.
