In 15th Century Italian Dance the term misura (pl. misure, Eng. measure) refers to the four different types of dance time. These are the bassadanza, the quadernaria, the saltarello and the piva. These misure have distinct time signatures, which in modern notation would be:

Misura Time Signature
Bassadanza 6/4
Quadernari 4/4
Saltarello 3/4
Piva 2/4
