Duck (Animal)

A water fowl.

These birds make a quack sound and float on water. They have large webbed feet, lay bigger eggs and have softer chest feathers (down) than chickens. They taste very nice with plum sauce.

In the earliest English manuscript to feature a duck making a sound is is reported as making a sound similar to queck.

Duck (Verb)

The motion a human makes when lowering themselves under something, a cross between a squat and a bend over, is to 'duck' under something.
