Man has a number of uses in the English language and in a medieval context.

== Man == (Proper noun) Refers to mankind or all of the human race.

== Man == (noun) Male member of the genus Homo.

== Man == (verb) To take a position. From this we get the modern words 'chairman' and 'barman'. Thus these words are unisex.
