Sanguine (humour)

Sanguine is a temperament of the four humours, corresponding to blood. A person who is optimistic and confident is referred to as sanguine. It is related to the element air, and is considered warm and moist. Sanguine people were believed to be inclined towards feverish, inflammatory illnesses.
