A light fighter is the SCA term used in Lochac to describe combat engineers, banner bearers, scouts, missile combatants (such as archers) and where appropriate, rapierists. They are also frequently referred to as lights.

For safety reasons, they must be clearly distinguished from heavy fighters during mixed battles, so their helmets bear either a large fluorescent triangle or a clearly visible plume. Lochac favours the plume method.
