The Newcomers Household in the Barony of al-Barran was begun as a series of regular ongoing, information gatherings for those new to the SCA ("new" being defined as a member for less than 2 years). These are informal meetings (i.e. garb not required) at which some aspect of the Society will be discussed. Talk is about various items such as preparing for a camping event; have a dialogue on the meaning of honor; making T tunics; discuss protocol, or watch a period movie. Of course no matter what is on the agenda topics of interest and side discussions with established members of the society that attend are welcome and encouraged.
