Members of the SCA live in the Current Middle Ages. This term refers to the present way the Society works and the research and customs it practices in the Known World. While these are all based on the historical Middle Ages, the Society has many idiosyncracies and things it likes to think distinguish it from the medieval period. For one, less plagues!
