A beast is a non-human animal - a type of heraldic charge.
They principally come in 2 flavours:
- natural beasts -- as you would expect
- heraldic beasts -- monsters and unnatural things, also beasts like the heraldic leopard, which is a herald's name for a lion and doesn't have spots.
