The Church of Adria is an attempt within the Adrian Empire to recreate the importance of the medieval Church within the context of a modern reenactment organization.
While historically the Christian Church (in its various denominations) was extremely influential in medieval history, the modern Adrian Empire is a non-religious organization. The Church of Adria was created to be a non-religious way to acknowledge the importance of the Church in history, and to bring the pomp and circumstance into Adrian ceremonies.
That is the limit of the Church’s role in the Adrian Empire, and for all intents and purposes, the Church of Adria may be considered to be equivalent to a Guild.
