A craft is a practise which requires artistic and manual skill. Lurking behind the craft is the science of how and why the techniques and materials produce the results. Very often the design work is an art which sometimes is done by the craftperson, and other times by a specialist.
Examples of Crafts
Some crafts:
- Textiles: spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting, fulling, sewing, embelishing, embroidery
- Making shoes, weapons, jewelry
- Scribal: carving, printing, calligraphy, illumination, painting
- Metal Work: Smithing, armoring, metal casting
