The steps are all done while moving to the left; the left foot is placed to the side in order to lift or kick with the right foot, and the right foot follows after. |

The branle Gay is found in Orchesography by Thoinot Arbeau. It is one of the quatre branles.
Steps Used
- Pied en l'air gauche or Kick Left (KL)
- Pied en l'air droit or Kick Right (KR)
