The Rialto is a Usenet Newsgroup for the SCA. The name Rialto is named for a marketplace in Venice near the Rialto bridge where people would meet for discussion and also hire prostitutes. The locale and its purpose were immortalized in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice where Salanio cries out, "What news on the Rialto?"
