I've moved some old discussion to User talk:Tobin/Old (2005)

Hi back

Thanks. :) I've been in the SCA a good while, plus I'm opinionated, so a Wiki seemed like a good activity. Besides, I think what y'all have here is really great. Sabine

Also hi back! By the way, I just pointed our local mailing list at your site, as they were beginning to start a scrambled wiki of their own, and the wikipedia format just works so much better. So...expect an influx, as Carolingia houses a lot of knowledgable but...err...vocal people. ;-) -- Metahacker 11:22, 25 Oct 2004 (EST)

hi :) as we say on the wikipedia, "Be Bold" Tomislaus 23:46, 10 Aug 2005 (CDT)

Thanks for having me, I look forward to putting in some worthwhile content. I'm concentrating on areas local to me for now, so Outlands will be getting some attention. --Thorgrimr of Dragonsspine 17:41, 1 Aug 2005 (CDT)

Projects

Warning! I have taken youer name in vain.

On the new Cunnan:Projects page I have listed you as a participant in the Forme of Cury project, based on your contributions to that project so far. If you don't wish to be listed there please remove your name. Conrad Leviston 03:47, 10 Aug 2005 (CDT)

SIG invite?

You seem to be an admin. Do you think it would be okay if I invited the Slavic Interest Group onto here? One challenge is that I don't think that the SIG is limited to SCA people only. What's the cut-off policy between on-topic and off-topic here? The current page is http://slavic.freeservers.com/ and suffers from ads and lots of dead links. Tomislaus 07:15, 11 Aug 2005 (CDT)

Blocked User 210.....

Thorgrimr's suggestion

Hi, I just got this message from Thorgrimr, and thought it was more appropriate for you:

My jaw about hit the ground when I saw what version of the wiki you are running here, it's sorely outdated even for the 1.4 series. Might I suggest a significant upgrade (1.6.7 comes to mind) and installation of two extensions that will curb so much of your spamming traffic. The first extension is Spam Blacklist which allows you to list domains/urls that, when found in a article, prevent someone from saving the page. The second is called "Bad Bahavior" and it does many cool things, but one of the most important is to block a ton of proxy connection that are commonly used for spamming. I believe it also address spambots that can race through a wiki in no time. These are just so friendly suggestions from someone who doesn't visit Cunnan too often, but likes to see his images up on the front page, lol. Thorgrimr of Dragonsspine 22:27, 20 Jun 2006 (EST)

Cheer. Conrad Leviston 10:44, 21 Jun 2006 (EST)

Noted. I've got some time before uni goes back so I'll update Cunnan (as well as some other sites). Part of the problem with upgrades has been the versions of PHP and MySQL used on the previous server. - Tobin 02:21, 10 Jul 2006 (EST)

A message for you from Lochac Masonry

Hi Tobin,

Apparently masonry@lochac.sca.org, the admin and assets side of the kingdom, wants to contact you but doesn't have Skype. Could you please tell them how else to contact you.
