First mentioned by Pliny the Elder, the Yale is a spotted antelope-like beast used in heraldry. It is about the size of a horse, with tusks, long horns, and the tail of a lion or goat. The horns are able to swivel independently and are virtually always shown parted rather than parallel.

First granted as a device in the early 1950's, it was previously used as a supporter by the mother of Henry VII.
